Candle Care Guide

Darling Candle Care

Burn Time:
As with all candles, the first burn is the most important. Allow your candle to burn for up to four hours to gain the longest life out of your product. If the wax is not allowed this length of time to burn it may then tunnel on subsequent burns.

Wick Care:
Wick care and wick maintenance is crucial in achieving a good clean burn.  Trim the wick to 3 mm before each burn. After 4 hours burn time extinguish, clean and trim prior to next use.
We recommend using professional wick trimmers for the perfect cut.

Never leave a lit candle unattended and keep well out of reach of children and pets. Do not place a lit candle in a draught, on or near anything flammable or other heat sources.
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours, clean and trim wick and leave for 2 hours to cool before relighting.
Never allow the candle to burn completely to the bottom of the jar, extinguish when there is 10-12mm of wax remaining to prevent excess heat in the jar.

The natural soy wax and fragrance oils we use can be sensitive to both temperature and light. Always store your candle at room temperature away from direct light and use the lid provided to prevent discoloration and dust settling on the wax.
During summer months candles left in hot cars, window sills or in direct sunlight can easily melt, please let your candle cool to room temperature for 2 hours before lighting.
Extreme cold can cause cracking and the wax to separate from the jar, allow the candle to return to room temperature for 2 hours before lighting.
